Lisa Anne Bergeleen, the daughter of Charlie and Darlene Bergeleen was born on January 2, 1979 in Mitchell, SD. She grew up in Wessington Springs, South Dakota and graduated from Wessington Springs High school in 1997. Lisa’s favorite activities growing up were showing in 4-H, FHA, high school sports and keeping a watchful eye and biggest supporter of her little twin sisters, Teri and Erin.  Lisa went on to graduate from Dakota Wesleyan University with a degree in Elementary Education. Lisa spent her entire career in the education field and most recently celebrated her 20th year as a teacher in the Wessington Springs School District.

You will never find a bigger fan or supporter than Lisa. Lisa could be found in the stands of any and all Wessington Springs Spartans activities and frequented games for the DWU Tigers, Sully Buttes Chargers and SDSU Jackrabbits. During the summer months, she’d be at an Owls game or next to the fence at the South Dakota State Fair to cheer on her family and friends. Lisa had a love of shopping and was always the best dressed person in any room.

Her family was her life and very important to her. To Lisa, her “family” was every dear friend she made along the way including her cherished Springs friends and the lifelong group of friends from DWU. She had a very special bond with her Uncle Roger, Aunt Sharill, cousins Michelle and Melanie and their families. She never met a stranger and had a friend in every gym across South Dakota. Of all the titles Lisa held, Aunt Lisa to Remington Rae, Haven Marie and Gentry Layne was her top title.

Grateful for having shared her life are her parents, Charlie and Darlene of Wessington Springs, her sisters, Teri Jacobs and her husband, Brandon and nephew Taden of Harrisburg; Erin Yost and her husband, Rodney and nieces Remington and Gentry of Gann Valley and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vince and Twila Hinrichs, Clifford and Doris Bergeleen, her Aunt Sharill Dwyer and her niece, Haven Marie Yost.
