Local and visiting families bundled up and gathered en masse for the annual Wessington Springs Community Easter Egg Hunt Saturday. Nearly 70 kids lined up north of the swimming pool for the group Easter Egg Hunt photo, which can be found alongside the Gann Valley Egg Hunt photo HERE.

Despite the chill, visiting and local kids and their families enjoyed time outdoors together as they canvassed the city park on the lookout for 1000 brightly colored, sought-after, candy and prize- filled eggs.

Jerauld County 4-Hers were busy all week preparing for the egg hunt and hid eggs in different areas all over the park, determined by age groups spanning from preschool to fourth grade.

Before and after the hunt, attendees stopped by the Wessington Springs Fire Hall for free-will pancakes and sausage served up by local firemen and auxiliary. Proceeds from the breakfast will help firemen with equipment and ongoing operations.

The Easter Bunny also made an appearance, visiting with attendees and posing for photo opportunities throughout the morning.

Throughout Holy Week and on Easter Sunday, a wide variety of worship opportunities drew families to area churches to celebrate the Resurrection.
