The Wessington Springs Community Choir delivered two powerful performances at the Historic 1905 Opera House last Saturday and Sunday as they gave the gift of music to attendees in “Glorious Impossible.”

The cantata blended modern hymns with Christmas favorites and Scripture to tell the timeless story of Christ’s birth. Performing Sing We Now of Christmas Opener; The Miracle of Christmas; Rejoice With Exceeding Great Joy; Holy Ground Medley; Every Knee Will Bow; Holding a Miracle; Glorious Impossible; Sing We Now of Christmas Finale, the Wessington Springs Community Choir had been practicing the cantata throughout the fall in preparation for the Christmas show.

The choir is made up of: Sopranos - Susan Arnott, Kambrie Eik, Diane Fastnacht, Laura Kieser, Abby Kolousek, Melissa Kroeker, Fran Peterson. Second Sopranos - Lisa Edwards, Peg Fagerhaug, Amber Kolousek, Katee Olinger, Sandy Wenzel. Altos - Mary Jane Belz, Julie Fastnacht, Lois Feistner, Pam Hainy, Lila Hoffman, Eileen Schooler, Betsy Walz. Tenors - Ethan Amick, Gail Arnott, Brady Duxbury, Pat Fastnacht, Brett Miller, Terry Scheel, Peyton Walz. Basses - Brian Amick, Lennis Fagerhaug, Leo Jensen, Blake Miller. Director - Jan Krohmer. Narrator - Roger Dwyer. Sound and Lights - Carter Gaikowski. Camera, Lights and Videography - Marcus Damm.

The performance was presented by Springs Area Council of the Arts (SACOTA) and admission was a free will offering. Proceeds from the well-attended performance will be directed to future SACOTA programs and the preservation and upkeep of the Historic 1905 Opera House. 

“Glorious Impossible” was arranged/orchestrated by Russell Mauldin and created by Sue C. Smith, Lee Black, Russell Mauldin and Johnathan Crumpton.
