The US National Weather Service has issued flood watch, in effect through Saturday morning, 7 a.m. in Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme, Brookings, Brule, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hanson, Hutchinson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Turner, Union and Yankton Counties.. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying locations.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected tp redevelop this afternoon and into the evening. An additional widespread 2 to 4 inches is expected with higher amounts possible.
