A Wessington Springs woman is being treated for frostbite following an incident that happened at the home of James and Marie Woods during the New Year’s blizzard.
Marie Woods went out to check on the couple’s dog before bedtime, apparently fell and was temporarily knocked unconscious while the temperature was well below zero degrees. She was admitted to Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center for treatment of severe frostbite on her hands.
She has since been released from the hospital and has returned to her home to recover.
