The Foothills Rodeo Committee has been meeting weekly for the past month to iron out the details of these years’ events. TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK is back and is strongly campaigning to raise money for cancer research. Their black and pink t-shirts are being seen all over town and they can still be purchased at the Humm-Dinger for $10.00. Wear your shirt to either rodeo performance and be eligible for prizes. They will also have a tent set up on the rodeo grounds and Tough Enough to Wear Pink merchandise can be purchased on either rodeo day.
“WILD COW RIDING” is also back. The rodeo committee decided to offer the opportunity to some of our local talent to show their stuff again this year. We are trying to get 6 riders for each performance. A $100 dollar purse will be split 60/40 between the two top riders each night.
Lennis Fagerhaug and Paulette Olson offered to bring some of the rankest cows of their herds to town to match up with anybody who is “tough enough”. Anyone interested in riding should contact Brian Bergeleen at the Farm Bureau office (539-0014).
Attention “Muttin Busters”—you must to be at least 4 years of age this year and be less than 50 pounds. The rodeo committee decided that some of the riders of previous years were just a bit too young. There will be 12 riders during each performance. Anyone interested in riding woolies can contact the Farm Bureau office to pre-register or sign up the day of the performance in the rodeo office. Entrants will be accepted on a first come-first serve basis.
