MUSIC and TEA on Mother’s Day, what a unique way to observe this special day in Wessington Springs!
Springs Area Council Of The Arts (SACOTA) begins its program season by presenting Heath and Rebecca Salmen Huberg in music for flute, voice and piano at the 1905 Opera House at 2 pm. Tea at the Historic Governor Vessey home, located about 2 blocks from the Opera House, will be served following the program.
Governor Robert Vessey was the person who first proclaimed Mother’s Day as a public observance in 1909.
Gail and Susan (Dean) Arnott currently own and occupy this home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mr. and Mrs. Huberg will perform a variety of music from classical to Broadway.
Sharon Buwalda, Sioux Falls, will provide some of the piano accompaniments.
Tickets for the afternoon are available from SACOTA board members, the American Bank and Trust, or call 605-539-1515 or 539-1305.
