Opera House “Star of the Month”

The American Bank & Trust has joined the “Star of the Month” at the Wessington Springs Opera House for the month of April.

The Opera Star of the Month agrees to donate funds to help the committee keep the Restored 1905 Opera House running and in repair. The American Bank & Trust has taken the initiative to become Opera Star of the Month on the basis of their long history in Jerauld County. The bank was originally begun as it operated in 1886 behind a curtain in the back of the H.S. Royer’s drug store. The Bank of Alpena opened a few years later, in 1888.
