The Wessington Springs Area Community Foundation recently received an employee directed gift in the amount of $4,000.00 given by Steve Rasmussen of the Messengers of Healing Winds Foundation. These funds were earmarked for the following organizations: Opera House Boosters received $1,000.00, Shakespeare Garden Society $500.00, SACOTA $500.00, Springs Area Bus Fund $1,000.00, and the Wessington Springs Area Community Foundation received the final $1,000.00 to be used for distribution this year. The recipients of this $1,000.00 were the Weskota Manor Auxiliary receiving $744.00 to be used to provide bus transportation for the residents to community and regional events and also to provide birthday cheer gifts to each resident; the remaining $256.00 was used for an annual awareness ad by the Wessington Springs Area Community Foundation.
