Sioux Falls, SD – The South Dakota High School Coaches Association announces the Winter Sports Coaches of the Year Awards for the Winter of 2010.Lee Johnson, Wessington Springs, was named basketball official of the year. He was earlier presented an award as the basketball official of the year from the National Federation of High School Officials during the 2010 State A Boys Basketball Tournament..
This year’s winners include: Gymnastics – Lynn Gudmundson, Deuel; Wrestling – Steve Keszler, Sturgis; Girls’ Basketball – Steve Krause, Elkton-Lake Benton; Boys’ Basketball – Eldon Marshall, White River (Kenny Huether, Hitchcock-Tulare was nominated); Athletic Director – Darren Paulson, Rapid City Central; Official – Lee Johnson, Wessington Springs
These people will be recognized at the annual awards banquet to be held in Aberdeen on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in conjunction with the summer coaches’ clinic.
