SUBMITTED PHOTO - DRESSED AS GOVERNOR AND MRS. ROBERT VESSEY, Springs Mayor Jim Burg and his wife, Bernice, were at the Vessey home in Wessington Springs over the Fourth of July. The couple took a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Robert Vessey is a former governor of South Dakota who lived in the historical house during his tenure early last century. The house is now owned by Gail and Susan Arnott. It is one of eight Springs buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. By the way, Jim Burg once ran for governor of SD.
