On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Spartans traveled to Miller to participate in the Miller Booster Track & Field Meet. Grady Gran threw the shot put 39’ 4” to land in 6th place. Robbie Hine threw the shot 36’ 1”; Jaspur Gran threw 31’ 3”; and Holden Jackson threw 29’ 7”. The girls threw the discus led by Anna Arhart, 78’ 9”; Avery Orth, 76’ 2.25”; Lily Roesler, 47’ 10.5”; and Tenley Olinger, 44’ 11”. Holden Havlik was 2nd in the javelin with his throw of 132’ 10”.

Avery Orth landed her shot put 38’ 10” to not only land her in 1st place, but set her school record up a notch with that toss. Anna Arhart hit the 30-foot mark with 30’ ½” to land in 8th place. Robbie Hine landed his discus out 113’ 1.75” for 8th place. Grady and Jaspur Gran also threw discus, 96’ 2.25” and 71’ 3.75” respectively. Avery Orth threw the javelin 73’ 04” for 8th place. Lily Roesler threw her javelin 46’ 9”.

The boys 2-mile relay of Richard Cardona, Sutten Jensen, Karter Mebius, and Sam Poncelow ran 9:48.70 for 6th place. Bailey Yost ran 19.33 in the 100m hurdles and her time put her in 3rd place. Kenzie Kolousek ran 14.12 in the 100m dash to place 8th. Other running in the 100m dash were Mariah Messmer, 14.95; Londyn Mikkelson, 15.29; and Tenley Olinger 17.74. Holden Havlik ran 12.33; Holden Jackson ran 14.23; Grady Gran ran 15.28 and Jaspur Gran ran 16.37.

The boys’ 800m relay of Holden Havlik, Nathan Gaikowski, Sam Poncelow, and Karter Mebius ran 1:43.95, even after picking up the dropped baton to finish in 4th place. Abby Kolousek ran her mile run in 6:12.90. The boys’ 400m relay of Nathan Gaikowski, Holden Jackson, Damien Knippling, and Grady Gran ran 53.20 for 8th place.

Kenzie Kolousek ran the 400m dash in 1:04.00 for 2nd place. Ella Kolousek ran 1:14.69. Sutten Jensen ran his 400 in 1:15.92. Girls 300m hurdles was next and Bailey Yost ran 59.08 to cross in 5th place. Londyn Mikkelson, Mariah Messmer, Abby Kolousek, and Ella Kolousek ran 5:18.66 for 7th place in the sprint medley relay. The boys of Nathan Gaikowski, Holden Jackson, Damien Knippling, and Richard Cardona ran 4:19.29 for 6th place in the sprint medley relay.

Kenzie Kolousek’s time of 2:38.24 put her in 4th place in the 800m run. Lily Roesler also ran the 800 in 3:40.24. Mariah Messmer ran 31.56; and Tenley Olinger ran 39.01 in the 200m dash. Holden Havlik ran 24.92 for 3rd place in the 200m dash. Damien Knippling ran 27.98. Abby Kolousek was 6th in the 2-mile run with her time of 13:50.13. Sutten Jensen was also 6th in the 2-mile run with his time of 12:59.25.

The girls’ mile relay of Londyn Mikkelson, Ella Kolousek, Bailey Yost, and Kenzie Kolousek ran 4:49.80 for 7th place. The boys’ mile relay did not start due to injury and illness.

The next varsity was Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Burke for the Meet of Legends, where field events started at 10:30 a.m. and running started at 12:30 p.m.
