TRUE DAKOTAN PHOTO/DUKE THE 4-H FOOTHILLS ARENA in the northwest corner of Wessington Springs is a busy place on any given day during the summer. Not only with events such as the 4-H horse show, Foothills Rodeo, Bull Bash and barrel racing contests but the arena also serves as a practice grounds for many events. Katie Deneke is pictured above taking her horse through some practice runs last Thursday, getting ready for the upcoming 4-H horse show. On this day, horse people were also practicing for goat tying and cowboy mounted shooting.
