THE SPRINGS BOYS two-mile relay took gold at the 2009 State B track meet in Rapid City last week. They are, from left, Mitch Kraft, Cordell Muilenburg, Mahmoud Monsour and Drew Kraf. Mitch also captured first in the mile and fourth in the two-mile runs.

The Wessington Springs High School Spartans picked medals at the 2009 state track meet, held in Rapid City last weekend. The Springs thinclads picked up six medals including, Mitch Kraft, Cordell Muilenburg, Mahmoud Monsour and Drew Kraft won first place for the two-mile relay, Mitch Kraft with a first place in the mile and fourth in the two-mile run. The boys medley relay team –composed of Mitch Kraft, Drew Kraft, Cordell Muilenburg and Phillip Berglund — was seventh. Cole Kopfmann was sixth in the discuss.

Mindy Kraft won a fourth place medal in the girls’ mile run.
