The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs Blackhawks traveled to Wolsey on Friday night and came away with a 26-12 victory on a cold and snowy night.
The Blackhawks scored first in the opening quarter on a 1-yd run by Kole Kopfmann. The Blackhawks opened up a two score lead in the second quarter when Collin Baumgart scored on an 84 yard run. The score was 14-0 at halftime. The Blackhawks scored twice in the 3rd quarter. The first came on a 48 yard run by Collin Baumgart. The second score came on a 10 yard pass from Eric Warkenthien to Trevor Kenobbie. After three quarters the score was 26-0. Wolsey-Wessington scored twice in 4th quarter to make the final 26-12. The Blackhawks had a huge night on the ground. As a team Woonsocket/Wessington Springs rushed for 386 yards. Collin Baumgart rushed for 216 yards on 19 carries. Kole Kopfmann rushed for 117 yards on 22 carries. Defensively, Ty Kenobbie led the way with 13 tackles. Next up the Blackhawks travel to Kimball on Friday night.
