The Fourth of July was a day full of events for people to see and do in Wessington Springs. The annual fireworks display was attended by hundreds of area people after the Owls’ “scrimmage” game.
The photo at left shows one of the spectacular fireworks charges that were set off on the hill overlooking town by the Springs volunteer firemen. The event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and is enjoyed by hundreds of people every year.
A light-but-steady rain fell as participants lined up for the annual Fourth of July parade Saturday afternoon. As the 2:30 start time approached, the sun came out and so did a very large contingent of people who were rteady to watch.
