Senior Citizens building fund needs your donations!
DONATIONS LARGE OR SMALL are gratefully accepted for the new Senior Center that is to be built in Wessington Springs. Chamber of Commerce representative Cheryl Manthei (left) presents a check to Senior Center representatives Keith Robbins (center) and Wayne Salmen (right) after the Senior Center won “Best Golf Car or Four Wheeler” honors in the annual Fourth of July parade. The check was just $25, but when added with others, like the nice $30 check that Ann Liedtke sent from Texas last week, and the $100 check (proceeds from the Dr. Dean congratulatory ad) from the True Dakotan, they will all help in funding the new center. Demolition work was completed last week on the lots just off Main Street on Wallace Street. Bob Lee and his crew are pictured tearing down one of the two houses on the lots. Several trees were also removed. The lots will become the site of the new Springs Senior Citizen Center. Funds are now being raised to build the new building and monies are still needed. Area people are invited to donate to this good cause. Contact any Senior Center member or send a check marked (Senior Citizens Building Fund) to the True Dakotan at PO Box T, Wessington Springs, SD 57382
