“Crop Dusters” keep the Springs airport buzzing during June

THE SPRINGS AIRPORT HAS BEEN BUSY this summer, serving as a home base for area crop spraying operations. A South Dakota Wheat Growers plane is shown taking off for a field in south Hand County. On some days Lutter’s Valley Spraying planes also use the local airport when they are not working out of their Gann Valley area headquarters. Much of the work over the past couple of weeks has been to treat wheat fields.
