Craig and Penny Wenzel, Wessington Springs, will observe their 35th wedding anniversary this Saturday, April 4, 2009.
They were married in Union City, CA., on April 4, 1974. They have been partners in the True Dakotan newspaper since its beginning in 1975.
Family includes Matt, Amber and Layne Wenzel, Pierre, Kim, Megan, her daughter Maddison, and Amanda Hinker and Kim’s fiancee Clint Petty, St. Helen’s, Ore., and Korrie, Cheryl, Mason and Parker Wenzel, Mitchell.

Congratulations on your 35th wedding anniversary, Craig & Penny! I’m sure you are thinking something like, “Boy – those 35 years sure went fast!” Our family has been so blessed to get to know the two of you better these last few years. Happy 35th wedding anniversary!!! Things are going great in Augusta, Georgia. Lindsey is 13 years old now, the boys Lee and Jacob are 9 years old. Linda is a special ed teacher at Bel Air Elementary School. Since I retired from Army in 2007, I been working as a contractor teaching on Ft Gordon. Still trying to fish any chance I get, and keeping up with family and friends. We plan on coming up to Springs in summer of 2010. Really miss the open space of South Dakota, compared to the crowded city life. Say hi to everyone.
