Death Notice
Theone Whitlock
Theone (Meade) Whitlock, of Kalama, WA, died on May 30, 2012, at the age of 91 years. She was born August 16, 1920. She attended schools in Wessington Springs.
She married Robert (Bob) Whitlock at Wessington Springs. Bob was in the mechanic business with his brother, Raymond Whitlock in Wessington Springs. The couple later moved to Washington where they lived atop a mountain overlooking Kalama, Washington near the active volcano, Mt. St. Helen’s. . Bob worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and Theone was a secretary at a paper company in the Kalama area.
During their long life together, Bob and Theone made many summer visits to Wessington Springs to visit family and friends.
Theone was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and sisters-in-law Don and Mary Wenzel, Raymond and Lillian (Whitlock) Pederson.
She is survived by her daughters, Violet and Dixie, who live near Kalama, a sister, Carole Christensen, Huron, her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews from this area and in the Washington area.
At Bob and Theone’s request, the family has combined their ashes and buried them beneath their favorite tree atop the mountain homestead. Their special grand daughter, Lynette Barnwell will reside on the mountain in the charming home Bob and Theone lovingly called “The Sheep Shed”.
