Robert Sefrna 71 of Wessington Springs died Wednesday afternoon August 19th, 2009 at the Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 AM Monday August 25th, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Edward Burian officiating. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery rural Wessington Springs.
Robert A. Sefrna was born on July 14, 1938 to Joseph and Louise (Pettrle) Sefrna at his parents, home in Crow Lake, South Dakota.
Bob attended rural country school and graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1957.
On June 5, 1965 he was united in marriage to Gwen Thome at Wessington Springs, SD, and to this union three children were born.
Bob was a former delivery man for the Huron Daily Plainsman in the Wessington Springs area. He had a lawn mowing business for many years and he also worked for Marken Excavating and Shonley Plumbing.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Alcoholic Anonymous for 37 years.
Bob also enjoyed playing cards, watching television, and visiting with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his three children Joe and his wife Renae of Sioux Falls, Marvel Hardesty and her husband Steve of Salina, KS, and Lynette of Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren Nicholas, Joshua and Hannah Puetz of Salina, KS; two step-grandchildren Nicholas and Heather Hardesty, two sisters Rose Luckett and her husband Jim of Wessington Springs and Betty Eddy of Casper, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ray and one sister Josephine and two brothers-in-law Bernard Eddy and LeRoy Aikens.
The family prefers memorials.
