Myra Aileen Grohs

Myra Aileen Grohs left this world for a better one on Thursday, July 22nd. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 27th at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick, Washington.

Myra was born on September 26, 1936 in Kimball to Lawrence and Kathryn Boesen. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1954 and married Paul William Grohs on February 2, 1956. They were together for 49 years.

Paul and Myra spent 14 years on a farm near Wessington Springs and then moved to Pasco, Washington in December 1969.

Myra retired from the Pasco School District as the head cook at Stevens Junior High School. She had been employed with the school district for 26 years and loved her job. She treasured the friendships made with her co-workers.

Myra had a great many hobbies. She made over 150 porcelain dolls, painting the dolls as well as sewing all of the beautiful clothes for them. Myra had a breathtaking back yard with every flower imaginable surrounding her three lily ponds. She also volunteered her time at Kadlec Auxiliary.

Myra is survived by six children: Ellen Conner (Mike), Nyla Simonette (Joe), Gene Grohs (Shelly), Margie White (James), Vivivan McKinlay (Scott), and Kathy Bryson (Doug); 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence, and a sister, Gennell.

Myra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul; parents; three brothers, Nick, Jerome, and Joe.

She was a sister-in-law to Donna Satter of Wessington Springs.
