Manassero, Bonnie Jean, 71, passed away on November 18, 2009 at her home in Brea surrounded by loving family members. Missing her deeply is her husband, Matt, her two children, Brent and Jill Kolle, five step children, Sharon Del Giorgio, Pam Cardillo, Mike Manassero, Melinda Green, and Rhonda Bergren and their spouses. Bonnie’s family also included 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins. Also sharing in this loss are her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Inez Boisseranc, Lorraine and Steve Manassero, and Ginny and Jim Manassero.
Bonnie was born on August 9, 1938 to Marion and Josephine Carr, in Wessington Springs South Dakota. Her parents predeceased her along with her older sister, Pat Chapman. Sisters Pamela Chilson and Cynthia Morris will never forget Bonnie’s love.
The family moved to Whittier from South Dakota in the early 1950’s where Bonnie completed high school at California High School. She lived her life in the La Habra and Brea communities where she raised her family, worked at the Alpha Beta Credit Union for over 25 years, and cooked 100’s if not 1000’s of dinners for family and friends. The only thing that surpassed the great food was the fun and laughter that she brought to the table. If only the table could speak, what stories it could tell us.
Bonnie had numerous gifts and blessings but her greatest was her innate understanding “not to sweat the small stuff” and to devote herself to family and friends. Her high personal values, unyielding positive attitude and unconditional love provided her with the most successful of lives, one filled with love and happiness.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on Friday, November 27th at 11:00 at the Alta Vista County Club, 777 Alta Vista Street, Placentia, California 92870.
Memorial gifts to Vistas Innovative Hospice Care at 220 Commerce, Suite 100, Irvine, California 92602 would be welcomed.
