June Larson

June Larson 83 of Wessington Springs died Monday morning Oct. 12, 2009 at the Weskota Manor/ Avera Health. Her funeral service will be held Saturday Oct. 17, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the United Church of Christ with Pastor Sarah Dean officiating. Interment will be in the Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 at the United Church of Christ with a prayer service and Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7:00 PM.

Viola “June” Bult was born on August 2, 1928 at Stickney, SD to Henry and Elvira (Nelson) Bult. She graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1944. She then went to Wessington Springs College and received her Teacher’s Certificate. She taught many years at Madden Country School.

On December 23, 1948, June was united in marriage to LA Larson at Armour, SD. She was, known to many kids as “Grandma June.” She dedicated her life to caring for children for over forty years and it was truly her passion.

June was a member of the United Church of Christ, UCC Women’s Fellowship, American Legion Auxiliary, Eight & Forty, Sing and Sew Extension Club, Vesper Chapter 81 of the Eastern Star.

Grateful for having shared her life were her seven children Gary and his wife Lydia Larson of Japan, Donna Harmdierks of Huron, SD, Vicki Jensen and her husband Steve, Peggi Jensen and her husband Craig all of Alpena, SD, Roger Larson, Kelly Larson and his wife Connie and Connie Ness all of Wessington Springs, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Ramona Bult of Tempe, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LA in 2000 and her brother Bob Bult.
