Gene Michael Doty, 46, of Kirbyville, MO, died Friday, December 18, 2009, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Bibb officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.

Gene is survived by his father John Doty; his siblings, Bob (Jan) Doty, Monroe, IA; Steve Doty, Taintor, Iowa; Randy (Barb) Doty, Wessington Springs, South Dakota; Dana (Cindy) Doty, Hull, Iowa; Linda (James) Bruce, Redfield, South Dakota; and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in January, 2009, and his grandparents.

Gene Michael Doty, the son of John and Shirley Doty, was born August 26, 1963, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Pella High School in 1982. Gene had lived the past 15 years in Kirbyville, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time at the Pawn Shop with his cousin Bruce Morey and the many friends who came to the shop daily. He also enjoyed camping, being outdoors and joking with all his cousins.
