EVELYN HINE
Evelyn C. Hine 88, of Wessington Springs, died late Saturday evening May 8t, 2010 at the Weskota Manor/Avera Health. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 12th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Edward Burian officiating. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Evelyn Cecelia Hine was born on December 26, 1921 to William and Theresa (Westendorf) Hutmacher at Chamberlain, SD. She graduated high school from Chamberlain.
Evelyn was united in marriage on May 13, 1942 to Robert Hine in Pasadena, Ca. In 1945 they returned to South Dakota where they ranched in Buffalo County. Her husband passed away in 1965. In 1967, she moved to Wessington Springs. She worked at the Jerauld County Memorial Hospital before beginning her 19 year employment with the Wessington Springs School District. She retired in 1997. Most of Evelyn’s life was devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren. She was an AMAZING mother and grandmother.
She is survived by 3 sons, Robert and his wife Cindy, Darrell and Greg, all of Wessington Springs, SD and 2 daughters, Sondra Fuerst of Rapid City, SD and Barbara Hine of Watertown, SD, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one sister Mary McClenahan of Tucson, AZ and two sisters-in-law Dorothy Hine of Concordia, KS and MaryJane Hutmacher of Rapid City, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, one daughter Beverly Gray, 3 brothers Rueben, Elmer and Don Hutmacher and 2 sisters Lorraine Janish and Dorothy Janish.
