Donna Kopfmann, age 55, of Streeter, North Dakota, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at her home after her battle with cancer.
There will be a funeral service at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 4th at the Streeter Hall in Streeter, North Dakota, with the Rev. Bruce Adams officiating, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM Thursday, November 5th, at First United Methodist Church in Huron with the Rev. Steve Foss and the Rev. Donald Crippen officiating.
Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials. Visit www.kuhlerfuneralhome.com.
Donna Jean (Jager) Kopfmann was born August 24, 1954 to August and Nellie (Lobban) Jager at Huron, South Dakota. She grew up five miles northwest of Alpena, South Dakota, was confirmed in the United Church of Christ in Alpena. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1972.
Donna was united in marriage to Darwin Kopfmann on September 3, 1972 and lived on the Kopfmann family farm near Alpena before moving to Huron in 1973. Rev. Kopfmann was appointed pastor to the Ashley and Forbes, North Dakota United Methodist churches in 1994.
They were appointed to the Clear Lake and Gary, South Dakota UM churches in 2001, and the Streeter, Medina, and Tappen, North Dakota UM churches in 2004. Donna had a passion for collecting angels and serving friend or stranger, both young and old.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband; daughter Amy (Jerrod) Busch, Huron, SD; son, Daniel (Carri) Kopfmann, Mitchell, SD; three grandchildren; and mother, Nellie Jager, Huron.
Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
