Coaching legend Rollie Greeno dies
A Wessington Springs coaching legend, Rollie Greeno died Tuesday, March 31, 2010. After coaching the Wessington Springs Spartans to an undefeated season in the mid-1950s, he went on to a 37-year coaching career at Jamestown (ND) College. He was inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. He was 83 years old.
While at Jamestown College he amassed 83 conference championships while coaching various sports.
Her coached football at Wessington Springs aftter graduating from Northern State in Aberdeen, leaving here with a 37-9-3 in 1956.
