A memorial service for Ardith E. (Miller) Endahl, formerly of the Lane area, was held Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton, TX.

Ardith (Ardie) Elaine Miller was born on May 20, 1924 at Wessington Springs, SD to Charles and Mabel (Appenzeller) Miller. She graduated from Lane High School in 1942, and taught grade school in the area.

She married Delno John Endahl on December 30, 1948 in Mitchell, SD. The couple had three children. Ardie worked 21 years in the receiving department at Sears until her retirement in 1989. After spending 40 plus years in Mitchell and Sioux Falls, the couple moved to Clifton, TX in 1993.

Ardie enjoyed being with friends and family, and loved being outdoors, whether it was to walk, do mowing and gardening, play sports or watch sports.

Ardie passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home, Clifton, TX. Her cremains were buried next to her husband’s at the Solberg Lutheran Cemetery in lane.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother Arlo Miller; husband Delno; and her son, Rev. Lauren Endahl. She is survived by her daughters, Janalee Endahl of Pflugerville, TX, and Julie Coats of Scottsdale, AZ; grandson Jeremy Ice of Montgomery, TX; and sisters Vonnie Mason of Overland Park, KS and Myra “Mikie” Schmitt of Huron, SD.
