A North Dakota man escaped injury when a semi-truck that he was driving hit two horses near Wessington Springs last week.
A team of large horses owned by Leroy Horsley had wandered on to SD Highway 34 a mile east of the Junction of SD 34 and Dakota Ave., Wessington Springs, at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, August 12. Calvin Hofer was the driver of the truck. According to Jerauld County Deputy Sheriff Jason Weber there were no citations issued. “The truck had a big, steel bull guard on the front,” he said, “otherwise there would have been a lot more dangerous than it was.”
