THE SPRINGS CINEMA had its first movie showing at the 1905 Opera House last Saturday, December 3. “Williams and Ree: The Movie” showed at 4:00 and 7:00 pm. The concession workers (above) were ready to serve up some popcorn at the evening show. They are, from left, Dr. Keri Orstad, Dr. Jennifer Day and Dr. Tom Dean. The attendance wasn’t what the committee had hoped for, but the busy holiday season may have had something to do with that. They are confidant that the crowds will pick up as word gets around about the theater and the experience that was enjoyed by those who attended the first screenings. The next showing will be a holiday-themed picture that young and old alike should enjoy on Sunday, December 18. With the ticket prices of $3.00 adult and $2.00 12 and under (with an adult) the movies are a real bargain. So come out and enjoy a movie after a 25-year absence in Wessington Springs. It’s a great experience.
