House fire kills Jerauld County man;
Robert (Bobby) Nielsen lived near Woonsocket
A Jerauld County man died in a house fire at his home near Woonsocket on June 12, 2012.
Robert (Bobby) Nielsen, 58, of rural Woonsocket, died as a result of the fire that destroyed his home, located in Blaine Township in southeastern Jerauld County.
According to the Jerauld County State’s Attorney’s office, those responding to the 23521 393rd Ave. Woonsocket fire were the following: Woonsocket Fire Department, Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office, Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office, State Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Department of Criminal Investigation.
Rebecca Leslie, the Jerauld County Coroner, declared Robert dead at the scene. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
The birth of his first grandchild coincided with his funeral.
