Jerauld County will have a new state’s attorney for the first time in approximately 30 years following the Tuesday, June 5, 2012 primary election.
Dedrich (Deach) Koch is scheduled to take office sometime after January 1, 2012 after winning the
Republican primary race against longtime state’s attorney Casey Bridgman.
Bridgman had been state’s attorney in Jerauld County for approximately 30 years.
A native of Buffalo County and currently a resident of Gann Valley, Koch attended Wessington Springs High School.
He has experience in the field having served as Custer County (SD) deputy state’s attorney and Human Resource officer.
“I’m looking forward to going to work for the people of Jerauld County,” he told the True Dakotan on Friday, June 8.
Koch took a 230-150 win in the Jerauld County race.
The official canvass is printed inside this issue.
