TRUE DAKOTAN PHOTO - Classic cars line the Wessington Springs Main Street - August 7, 2010

TWO BLOCKS OF MAIN STREET from Springs Inn/Thornton Drug all the way down to the Traveler’s Motel were full of classic cars, classic tractors and people. People of all ages came to view the vintage machines and enjoy a fun day on Main Street-Wessington Springs. The Foothills Classic Car & Tractor Show drew a record number of entries for the show, which was held Saturday, August 7, 2010. Vernon Schimke, who helped organize the tractors a year ago, said there were six more tractor entries than there were a year ago. The number of classic cars and trucks was also larger. The tractors pictured above were on the first block of Barrett off Main to the south. The kids pedal pull tractors are pictured in the foreground.
