Darleen wrote her news Monday morning and Delia got it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the hamburger, green beans, tater tots and blueberry dessert from the Manor kitchen.

Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some groceries for Darleen. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles ball game. Baltimore won 7-4.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen watched the Twins and Baltimore. The Orioles won again 11-3. Darleen’s daughters Cindy Zenk of Webster and Connie Theurer of Rosemount, MN called to visit in the evening.

Judy Baumgart was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday. She served an assortment of rolls and donuts. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Darleen Higgins, Joyce Mees, Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Kathy Larson, Pastor Nancy Rieke, Luella Teveldal, and Darleen Cuppy.

Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cherry dessert from the Manor kitchen. Darleen’s daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster and granddaughter Crissa (Zenk) Fruechte of Pipestone, MN brought three-month-old baby boy Wells Michial to meet great grandma Dar. He smiles and coos so cute!

At 2 p.m. cards were played in the south dining room. We had four tables! Enjoying the afternoon were Marilyn Robbins, Kay Reindl, Nyla Kappel, Sheila Reindl, Judy Baumgart, Doris Deneke, Darleen Higgins, Joyce Mees, Shirley Bender, Lyle Pawlowski, Marie Reindl, Luella Teveldal, Eileen Thomas, Ruth Jensen, Lynette Marken and Darleen Cuppy. Coffee, cake and ice cream were enjoyed, served by Marilyn Robbins family.

Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for her 10:30 a.m. appointment. Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner from the Manor kitchen.

Friday Darleen enjoyed the meatloaf, peas, and cake dinner delivered by Joanne Grohs from the Senior Center. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers play. Detroit won 5-4.

Saturday Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and sauces from the Manor kitchen. Nikki Rogers Staleman of Sioux Falls had come to visit her Grandma Joyce Rogers in the Manor. Nikki stopped in to visit “Auntie Dar” Cuppy. She was in Auntie Dar’s Daycare many years ago! Also visiting were Brett Sinkie, Cody Shryock, Duane Wetzel, Joe and Dani Heinert and baby Jennifer Kludt.

Saturday at 2 p.m. Marlys Shryock’s 90th birthday was honored in the Springs Inn. It was hosted by Craig and Kelly Shryock and Duane and Cody. They served birthday cake and coffee to a large group. It was a very nice event. Darleen enjoyed visiting with the family.

Saturday evening Chris Schimke delivered the Evelyn Morales Benefit Supper to Darleen Cuppy’s apartment. It was delicious pulled pork sandwich, beans, chips and cake for a free will donation.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy, Rochelle Witte and Mary Lou Cameron rode the bus to the Methodist church with Joanne Grohs. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We sang “To God Be The Glory” and “Blessed Be Thy Name.” Several announcements were made. We said the Lord’s Prayer and the Offering was taken. Special music by the choir – Jan Krohmer, Laura Kieser, Julie Kraft, Sandy Wenzel, Gretchen Burnison, Lila Hoffman, Diane Winter, Darrel Winter and Chris Schimke. Pastor Cheri had the children come down front for a special message. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “You Will Be My Witness.” Our closing hymn was “Stand By Me.” Darleen enjoyed the dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen.

The weather was nice, so Darleen went for a walk in the afternoon.

“Living well and being happy is a wonderful feeling.”
