Hundreds of deer have assembled in the Wessington Hills near the northwest corner of Wessington Springs this winter. These were “shot” by True Dakotan Duke Wenzel the other day…. who said there are a lot more than this. They were seen around the home of Elton and Julie Kaus, who live in the Hills in that corner of town. The animals go down into town to eat corn on the South Dakota Wheatgrowers pile of corn on the dumpground road at night. They also  are causing highway hazzards with drivers who use the highway north of Springs. –Craig
