The Wessington Springs True Dakotan serves the readers of Jerauld County, as well as the surrounding areas in Beadle, Sanborn, Hand, Buffalo, Brule, and Aurora counties.

It also serves as the official publication, printing legal notices for: Jerauld County, City of Wessington Springs, Town of Alpena, Town of Lane, Wessington Springs Independent School District.

AWARD WINNING NEWSPAPER

The True Dakotan has received various awards from the state’s newspaper association, as well as community service awards.

The paper received the “Business of the Year” award from the Wessington Springs Area Development Corp. in 1999; Wessington Springs school district “Partner in Education” award in 1995; along with other community awards for public service.
