Community Youth Group conducts Trick or Treat Food Drive for local pantry

COMMUNITY YOUTH GROUP and Thrivent Financial Jerauld County chapter #30591 teamed up on October 27 for the 2010 trick or treat for the Jerauld County food pantry. It was a wintry night but students and volunteers turned out for the benefit. Supper was served by volunteers. Craig Fonder, Ulie and Mindy Kraft gave a presentation, “Winter Driving Tips.” Students and drivers collected over 24 boxes that night. Students participating were, left to right, Dakota Parks, Cassiidy Musick, Mindy Kraft, Sheyanne Brodkorb, Shyanne Kopfmann, Marina Parks, Zachary Paulson, Erik Kurth, Blake Willman, Nicholas Paulson, Thrivent board member Pat Wetzel, volunteer Colton Cashman and Brianna Johhnson. The Food Pantry is open in Wessington Springs from 100-4:30 p.m. on the third Fridays of November and December. It is located in the old fire hall near the corner of Main Street and Dakota Avenue.
