<p align="left"><a href="http://truedakotan.com/sports/huffman-captures-marathon-victory-at-hilo-hawaiis-big-island-international/attachment/huffman-casey-finishing-marathon-42/" rel="attachment wp-att-7766"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-7766" title="huffman casey finishing marathon 42" src="http://truedakotan.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/huffman-casey-finishing-marathon-42-200x150.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="150" /></a>Curtis Huffman, of Wessington Springs, won the Big Island International Marathon held at Hilo, Hawaii, on Sunday, March 18 with a time of 2:39:31. There were more than 250 entries in the race from across the United States and several countries.</p>
<p align="left">The win was the second marathon victory for the Wessington Springs runner. He captured first place in the 2011 Omaha, NE, marathon. Prior to that he placed in the top 100 at the internationally-known Boston Marathon.</p>
<p>He can regularly be seen training on the streets of Wessington Springs. Huffman is employed in the Wessington Springs school system.</p>

<p> Venture Communications, in cooperation with South Dakota Public TV (SDPB) and SDN Communications will partner to bring the 2012 State Girls Basketball Tournaments to Venture communities. The three companies will allow Venture TV viewers an opportunity to choose the tournament they wish to watch.</p>
<p>   For those fans who will be unable to travel and attend the games in a live setting, tune into your local Venture Vision channels and South Dakota Public TV channels.  Live coverage of the complete State AA Tournament from Frost Arena in Brookings will air on channel #400 beginning Thursday, March 8 at 1:00pm CST continuing thru Saturday evening, March 10.</p>
<p>   The State A Tournament will air from the Young Center in Spearfish on Venture Vision special events channel #401. Live coverage of all opening round games will begin on Thursday, March 8 at 1:00 pm CST, continuing thru Saturday evening, March 10.</p>
<p>   The State B Tournament will be covered from the Huron Arena on Venture Vision special events channel #402. Live coverage will begin on Thursday, March 8 at 1:00 pm CST, thru Saturday evening, March 10.</p>
<p>   Tune into your local Venture Vision channel for broadcast times and channel locations of each tournament.</p>

<p align="justify">The Dig Pink Night sponsored by the Spartan volleyball team and the Wessington Springs High School student council will be October 18, 2011 during the James Valley Christian event beginning at 6:15 pm.</p>

<p align="justify">The students have planned a supper, silent auction, and display of facts and preventions to breast cancer.</p>

<p align="justify">The WSHS volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Than here last Tuesday, October 4, at the Springs gymnasium.</p>

<p align="justify">A trio of players led the team against Ethan. Traci Orth had seven kills and 13 digs to pace the Lady Spartans. Shyanne Kopfmann added six kills and Shelby Sandmann had `13 assists.</p>
