Legion Hill’s “cannon with a view”

The cannon that used to be on "Legion Hill" was moved to the lawn of the Prairie Lounge/American Legion. It still provides a pretty good view across the prairie, facing into the rising sun over South Gulch at Wessington Springs - True Dakotan photo/Duke Wenzel 2001

Looking back…. explained

We hope you enjoy these “blast from the past” photographs from the True Dakotan archives. Most of them were taken by Duke Wenzel. We’ve started with the year 2001 and will continue through the years while we continue to bring you new news (2010) as well. This is a picture of the old Willard and Alice Willman place, west of Wessington Springs.

Looking back…

The Wessington Springs High School football cheerleaders gathered for this photo during the 2001 season. Anyone who knows all of the names may type them into the “comments” box of this blog and we’ll add them.
