EDNA BRANDENBURG
Edna Brandenburg, age 85, of Huron, died Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her funeral service was Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron.

Edna Marie (Teveldal) Brandenburg was born on July 16, 1926 to Peder and Ida (Pederson) Teveldal at Alpena, SD. She attended school in Beadle County, was united in marriage to Harold Ray Brandenburg on January 27, 1950 and left this earthly world to be with her Lord and Savior on February 12, 2012.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and caregiver. During her life, Edna worked at the Coop Store, B&B Lockers, Raven Industries, M-Tron and the South Dakota State Fair. In 1995, Harold and Edna retired from farming and moved to Huron where she lived at the time of her death.
Edna was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Wessington Springs, SD. She enjoyed working with the Sunday school children and was active in the ladies aid. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling and spending time with them.
Her favorite pastimes included crocheting, quilting, playing cards, camping with the Prairie Pal Camping Club, tending to flowers in her garden and attending concerts and events with her friends and family. Edna was a very kind and compassionate person and became a friend to everyone she met. She was well known for her delicious homemade rolls, chocolate chip cookies, crocheted doilies and her beautiful blue jean quilts.
She is survived by her seven children, Cheryle (Tim) Kludt of Lakeville, MN; Karen (Mark) Scherschligt of Gilbert, AZ; Nancy (Joel) Bialas of Marion, SD; Renold (Michelle) Brandenburg of Alpena, SD; DelRoy (Karen) Brandenburg of Huron, SD; Dennis (Teresa) Brandenburg of Pierre, SD; Patricia (Allan) Hall of Brandon, SD; eighteen grandchildren, Krysia (Stephen) Heimer, Brian Scherschligt, Kristie (Jeff) Sargent, Melanie Scherschligt, Lanae (Bannon) Larson, Kayla (Jeremy) Squier, Justin (Amber) Fischback, Jeremy Fischback, Kassie Pearson-Brandenburg, Breanne Brandenburg, Nathan Brandenburg, Nicholas Brandenburg, Lane Brandenburg, Ryan (Shantell) Harsh, Lyle Hall, Alana Hall; twelve great grandchildren; three brothers, Ole (Liz) Teveldal, Lenoard (Luella) Teveldal, Ivan Teveldal; five sisters, Pearl Krog, Leona (Russell) Hansen, Verna (Leo) Koerner, Lila (Doc) Kludt and Deloris Schaffer; one sister-in-law Agnes Teveldal, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Brandenburg; her parents, Ida and Peder Teveldal; one brother, Lloyd Teveldal; two brother-in-laws, Dick Krog and Al Schaffer; two sister-in-laws, Vernice Teveldal and Glenda Teveldal; two grandchildren, Nichole Fischback and Jhett Bialas.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs.

JOYCE REIMER
Joyce Reimer, 87, of Wessington Springs, died Wednesday evening Feb. 1, 2012 at the Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were held at Monday, Feb. 6, at the United Church of Christ in Wessington Springs with Rev. Sara Olson Dean officiating. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery.
Joyce Idella Reimer was born on December 3, 1925, west of Wessington Springs to Herbert and Lydia (Hehn) Radke. She was baptized May 23, 1943 at the Templeton Congregational Church. Joyce attended country school and graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1945.
Lowell J. Behrens
Lowell J. Behrens, 52, of Dell Rapids, SD passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD with family present after a 6-year courageous battle with cancer. His Funeral Service was Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids.
Lowell was born on January 7, 1960 to Lowell and Bonnie Behrens in Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up in Dell Rapids for most of his life and graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1979. Lowell then attended Mitchell Technical Institute for Electrical Construction and Maintenance. He worked as an Electrician since his graduation, and then earned his Contractor’s License.
Donna Feistner
Donna Feistner, 72, Woonsocket, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket. Funeral services were Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woonsocket. Burial was be in the Feistner Cemetery.
Donna Phyllis Feistner was born February 4, 1939, at Mitchell, to Donald and Phyllis (Burlingame) Stone. She grew up and attended school at Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1957. On June 8, 1957, she married Byron Dicus. She was employed in the Administration Offices of Methodist Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in Mitchell for many years and later worked at Martin and Associates until 1976. On October 4, 1976, she married Wayne Feistner at Luverne, MN. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woonsocket.

EMIL FEISTNER
Emil A. Feistner 94 of rural Woonsocket, died Friday morning, December 30, 2011 at the Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket.
Emil A. Feistner was born on November 10, 1917 on the Feistner homestead 7 1/2 miles southwest of Woonsocket to Theodore and Minnie (Luker) Feistner.He attended country school through the 8th grade. He began farming immediately on the homestead with his family.
On September 4, 1944 Emil was united in marriage to Arlene Klemm at Lane, SD. Following their marriage they farmed in the Woonsocket area until they moved into Woonsocket in 1984. He entered Prairie View Care Center Nursing Home in 2006.
Emil loved the hard work life of the farm and raising livestock and crops. On Sunday after church he enjoyed visiting with family and neighbors. One of his favorite interests was playing with kids sitting on his lap and laughing with them, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where he held several positions.
He is survived by two Sons Dennis Feistner and his wife Rita, and Gayle Feistner all of Woonsocket, two grandchildren Cory Feistner and his wife Claire of Woonsocket and Carla Kwasniewski and her husband Scott of Brookings, three great grandchildren Caitlyn and Carter Kwasniewski of Brookings and TJ Filler of Mitchell, six sisters-in-law Lorena Feistner and Viona Feistner both of Sioux Falls, Inez Redlin of Fullerton, CA, Milda Dittmer of Roseburg, OR, Luella Snow and her husband Clint of Seattle, WA and Elsie Mulligan of Tempe, AZ, several nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Arlene in 2008, a daughter Lynell, siblings Julius, Fred, Alfred, Clara, Edna, Ernest, Elmer and Herman, four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Emil was perhaps the last direct descendant of the pioneers in Jerauld County. His father, Theodore, came to Blaine Township, Jerauld County, as a baby with his parents in 1883. They homesteaded where the Feistner cemetery is located.
Esther Schuettpelz Fillmore

Esther Schuettpelz Fillmore
Esther Schuettpelz Fillmore, 98, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2011 at Bickford Cottage, Marion, Iowa. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion on Wednesday, December 21.
Esther was born to William and Betty Greimann at Garner, Iowa. She attended Iowa State College and began her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in Hancock County, Iowa at the age of 17.
She was married to Earl Schuettpelz on October 21, 1939 in Taylor Falls, MN.
Earl passed away August 30, 1981.

Verna Burnison, 88, of Huron, died Friday, November 25, 2011, at the Huron Regional Medical Center after suffering a stroke. Her funeral service will be at 2 PM Wednesday, November 30th at Riverview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Whipkey officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Russell M. “Buster” Uphoff, 81. of Gann Valley, SD, died Monday evening November 28, 2011 at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services were held Saturday December 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Gann Valley Fire Hall with Rev. Brian Jones of Miller officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery at Gann Valley with military rites by the Gann Valley American Legion.

Edward Francis Stanley passed away at Mitchell, S,. on November 27,2011 at the age of 54.
Edward was born January 31 1952 in Lawrence Kansas. His parents were Lowell D. and Camilla Ida (Smith) Stanley. Edward is survived by two daughters Sarah and Sharlese Stanley and one grand daughter, Samantha Stanley. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Edward attended school at Mission and Springfield, SD, Akron, Iowa, and graduated from high school at Vermillion, SD.

Darrel Gene Cleveland, Aberdeen, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, after a courageous battle with cancer. Blessed be his memory.
Darrel Gene Cleveland was born February 26, 1946, to Minor and Hannah “Jennie” (Schmike) Cleveland in Huron. He grew up in Wessington Springs and graduated from Wessington Springs High School. He attended and graduated from Sioux City Barber College. Darrel worked in several local barbershops before moving to Aberdeen.
