Jerauld County will hold a special election to determine the future of a tax freeze opt out plan that has been proposed by the county board of directors.
The election will be held Tuesday, March 20 instead of the original February 28 date.
The question, “Shall the County of Jerauld, South Dakota, opt out of the tax limitation in the amount of $450,000 starting the calendar year 2012, payable 2013 and continuing for the next eight years thereafter?”
Polling places will be the Jerauld County Ag building in Wessington Springs, Alpena Community Center, Mary Jackson Garage (Lane area) and Jerry Fastnacht Garage (west of Wessington Springs).
